Fordante – A New Classical Music Experience from Birmingham

Fordante - Premiering in Shropshire is an exciting new classical music group, Fordante – created by film music composer Phil Mountford working with four classically trained musicians.

Composer and musical director Phil comments: “This new music blends the drama and evocative sound of Venice with that of more contemporary film music producing beautiful, haunting and unforgettable melodies that are brought to life through this talented ensemble.”

This music appeals to all audiences including those that may not usually listen to classical music.

Bridgnorth and Cleobury will also be hosting a musical workshop in the daytime (15:30 to 17:00) for young musicians to come along to of Grade 3 standard and above where they can perform alongside the musicians of Fordante.

CONSPIRACY DISTRIBUTION OCTOBER 30th 2008 – SHOP UPDATE

Thanx to everyone who ordered the JESU / ENVY split LP and MANINKARI ‘Art Des Poussieres’ Limited LP . The first pressing of the Jesu/Envy lp is almost sold out, more news on a repress soon.

Next month the new MONNO ‘Ghosts’ CD/LP will be released as well – Release date is November 21, we’re doing our best to get the limited lp version also out by that time. Pre-orders are welcome! In the meantime check some streams here!

The debut release by Bryant Clifford Meyer’s TAIGA is set for release December 8. Clifford plays in Isis, Red Sparowes, The Gersch and Windmills by the Ocean and recorded a very transcending meditative record that caught us by surprise. More news, soundsamples, pressing info and artwork for the TAIGA ‘Hsheal’ LP to follow.

More labelnews: the Strings of Consciousness & Angel Limited LP and Heathdeath ‘III’ LP will come out January 23. More info to follow as well.

The Music Network Meeting Today at 4pm, 30th October 2008 at Birmingham TIC

The Music Network organises a NETWORKING EVENT on the last Thursday of each month, 4-6pm at The BCU Technology and Innovation Centre(TIC), Millennium Point, Curzon Street, Birmingham, B4 7XG. (directions/info tel: 08712 262725)

Today’s meeting will be open to all.

Thursday 30th October 4pm til 6pm at The TIC, Birmingham.

The Birmingham branch of Musicians Union will be supplying luxury chocolate biscuits and good coffee for all. There’s food and drink afterwards supplied by the creative networks lot too. Come and talk about Music and Quantum Physics or what you’re up to and meet some new people, you know it may make sense.

The Music Network organises the meeting for the benefit of music related businesses in the West Midlands region. If you have news to report, a presentation to give, an event to promote, any new points for discussion, a pitch to make, business cards or flyers to hand round, an appeal for help, advice or guidance or even if you just want the free tea and biscuits and some quality entertainment…you are all invited. I’m off the rails here by a long way, again, but Andrew sparked off a thought that reminded me of something that may be interesting to share. Forget the original question…here’s a thought for the day.
