Nightingales – Klangbad review 2009
September 11, 2009 by Mark Badger
here’s some highlights…
The first act in the tent is then Arnaud Rivière. Once again a Frenchman. He sits in the middle, around the sofas around him. Arnaud has an old broken record stuff and a lot of money and a few buttons to rotate. We are sitting directly behind him and can see well what he is doing. But we also see the horrified faces opposite the sofa. Because music is for most anything else. I stuff my ears full of pace in any event properly. This is highly gefährdent tinnitus.
He rubs iron on iron destroyed, a few plates, disassembles the old record player and back together, and tweaks and zwackt around with all sorts. With the use of the half (sitting) and lots of body iron toys.
Completely surreal pass out of the blue two well-dressed types. The older man in suit pants, the Younger, in a white shirt. The white shirt could be the young lover. They rub a bit, and pull off a highly effeminate show. But you notice they have understanding of music. Unlike most others, they can be correctly on the music. Yes, she can even dance to it. Or has paid the Arnaud?
Whatever. Arnaud is eventually finished, scratches his short time at the back and then pulls behind a sofa. From there, he is actually still constrained by the audience for an encore, and again ten minutes can make noise.
The Nightingale’s to play. Also, a band that apparently went on for years past me. But that just blows me now to positive. The sound magically pulls me forward. Now I want to dance. First, I recognize the singer. How cool is that? This is the older of the surreal crash-Dancer in the crazy Frenchman with the broken record player. Then I recognize also the drummer in a white shirt. And despite playing damn pretty girls in the band. I believe that in the not so poofy. A couple of elderly gentlemen and a few young girls to do so. Oh, whatever. It will still go to the music. This is really great. That’s kind of punk rock with some classical instruments. But also beautiful spherical and psychedelic and engaging. And the singer also has a cool voice. Even though he probably already has a few beers too many. Now he just kneels between the closely spaced monitor speakers on stage. However, with ass towards the audience. One sees only his powerful suit pants-related giant ass. This is a picture of times. There are actually made photos. Photographers come from everywhere, and must necessarily take a picture of that ass. This is probably really punk rock. Regardless, the next song is once again beautiful, and the singer can also stand again.
