Orginally set up as a basic music podcast, BSR was transformed into a radio show and launched on 28 October 2008 – its aim, to provide an alternative to mainstream music entertainment shows by playing more current, unorthadox and unsigned bands. The playlist is fused with original, satirical commentary and informative insight by top underground presenters. Shows such as ‘Metal Time’ and ‘The Alan Neill Rock Show’ are heard in over 30 different countries and offer the listener maximum thrills and bands a dedicated platform to potentially launch their careers.
Chris Murphy, producer and founder of Basement Sound Radio, said “We are delighted to have reached so many listeners. Its great to think that we kept our faithful followers since we launched and have gained so many more. It just goes to show that there are a lot of people out there who want to know more about the underground music scene”.
Nick J Townsend, one of the main presenters on the show commented, “Its great to be part of such a success story so far and I can’t wait to see the station expand into new areas”.
