Seth Faergolzia is a singer, composer, puppeteer, artist, and video maker based in Rochester, New York. He has been active for over 20 years, writing, recording, and touring as an independent musician. Faergolzia is known for his anti-folk/freak-folk style of music, which turns traditional genres like folk upside down and inside out.
Faergolzia’s musical career began in the early 2000s when he founded the band Dufus, where he served as the lead singer and songwriter. He also played various instruments, including guitar, banjo, and drums. Dufus quickly gained a following for their energetic live shows and unconventional sound. Seth Faergolzia’s desire to create a soundtrack for his puppet show led him to form another band called 23 Psaegz.
After Dufus disbanded, Faergolzia continued to make music under his own name and formed the band Multibird, which features a rotating cast of musicians. In addition to his music, Faergolzia is an accomplished puppeteer and has created his own puppet theatre, which he incorporates into his live shows.
Faergolzia’s music has been described as experimental, eclectic, and playful, with influences ranging from punk rock to Eastern European folk music. He has released many albums over the years, including solo releases as well as albums with Dufus and Multibird. His most recent album, “Not Only Because But Also Because,” draws from songs he wrote between 2001 and 2021.
In addition to his music and puppetry, Faergolzia is also an artist and video maker. His creativity and independent spirit have earned him a loyal following of fans, and he continues to push the boundaries of what it means to be a musician and artist in the modern world.
